COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted as of December 2022. However, it may be prudent to test before setting sail.
Anyone in public safety is welcome to attend, this includes police, fire, EMS, 9-1-1, records clerks, jailers, etc.
Family and friends are also invited, even if they are not in public safety! The more attendees we have, the more fun we have!
No. This cruise does not offer any training hours. The cruise is meant to be a well-deserved break from our stressful jobs!
The cruise starts with a meet and greet, where cruise goodie bags are handed out.
On some of the cruises we have done a slot pull, where we all contribute a set amount and try to hit the jackpot!
There is talk of doing a patch exchange during the upcoming cruise, and also holding a door decorating contest (winner receives a cruise gift card).
Various cruisers will attend sea day brunch, dinner, and tea together.
Some in the group also attend comedy shows, music shows, or the piano bar together.
Cruisers may also choose to do port activities with other public safety cruisers.
Absolutely not, some long-time cruisers get better perks than our group perks.
However, to be included in the events, be sure to join the Texas Public Safety Facebook Group to see event information.
If a cruise incentive is received (money back after the trip), you must be booked with the group to be eligible for the incentive raffle.
No, it is entirely up to you if you would like to participate in group events.
This is YOUR vacation! If you prefer to do your own thing, we totally understand!
While it is highly recommended, it is not currently necessary to have a passport to travel on a cruise that leaves the US and returns to the US.
The cruise lines accept a government ID and your certified birth certificate (not the one provided by the hospital with footprints).
However, should there be an emergency and you don’t have a passport, you risk being stranded in another country.
Also, keep in mind Real ID is required after October 2021, you will not be able to fly with just a DL if it does not have the Real ID gold star.
Your cruise fare pays for your cabin, and most of the food. There are a few restaurants with charges. Food included: buffet, dining room (breakfast, sea day brunch, and dinner), Guy’s Burgers, Guy’s Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que, Cucina del Capitano (lunch only), Mongolian Wok, BlueIguana Cantina, Street Eats, Big Chicken and Pizza Pirate.
Coffee, tea, lemonade, and various juices in the morning are free.
What is not included:
Gratuities. These are currently listed at $16.00 per person, per day. You can choose to pre-pay these. The staff works very hard for little, and these tips are how they make their money. You can also choose to give your room steward, dining servers, etc. extra tips.
Alcohol. Cheers! starts at $64.95 per person/per day. Each adult in the cabin must purchase Cheers! if one person does, even if they don’t drink. Adult passengers may bring one 750 ml sealed/unopened bottle of wine or champagne per adult, in their carry-on luggage.
Soda. The Bottomless Bubbles package is available for $9.50 per adult per day and $6.95 per child per day. Guests may bring up to 12-sealed cans of soda per person, in their carry-on luggage.
Wi-Fi. Your phone should be put into airplane mode once out to sea to avoid extraordinary charges. Various Wi-Fi packages are available should you need to stay connected. Many places in port will have free Wi-Fi so you can check in.
Specialty restaurants. The Jubilee has many specialty restaurants for an added charge. Some that are new to Carnival. The 555 Steakhouse and Rudi’s Grill are $48 USD per person. If you have little kids, don’t miss the Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast for $6 per person. The costs listed are for adults, children have a smaller charge.
Casino Play. The casino is not free, though with a lot of play, they do offer incentives, to include alcohol while playing. To quote a ship comedian remember “they don’t build ships like this with winners in the casino.” Use your own judgement on casino play, we’ve had some with great luck, and others with not so much luck.
Bingo. Bingo also has a cost, it is offered many times throughout the cruise, and typically there is one bingo session where the prize is another cruise!
There are multiple Facebook cruise groups (including one for the specific sailing). There are lots of questions and answers in these groups.
After the cruise itineraries are decided, the website will have information regarding the cruise and the ports.
